"Narożnik" przypomina o ewangelicznej scenie kuszenia Pana Jezusa.

The Corner of Mary’s Hermitage “The Gate of Heaven” (1)

“The Corner” reminds about the Gospel scene of Jesus tempted in the wilderness. An eremitic life means staying in the desert, where, during the spiritual struggles, the devil arrives with various temptations. The most dangerous are the ones which – as in the Gospel scene – are disguised as spiritual goodness.

Staying in a hermitage liberates a man more and more fully from their illusions. “The Corner” reminds us every day that we should confirm again and again the deepest realism of life, which is expressed by putting trust in God.

The Corner of Mary’s Hermitage “The Gate of Heaven” (2)

First, have a look at the comment”The Corner of Mary’s Hermitage (1)” The earthly spiritual struggle is not an end in itself. Its aim is not only to perfect our will and other natural qualities. The final aim of the effort we invest is to achieve Heaven. The more a man is united with God, the greater is their participation in the reality of Heaven.

Erem Maryi "Brama Nieba" od strony południowej

"Był pewien gospodarz, który założył winnicę. Otoczył ją murem, wykopał w niej tłocznię, zbudował wieżę, w końcu oddal ją w dzierżawę rolnikom i wyjechał". Mt 21, 33

Mary’s Hermitage “The Gate of Heaven” from the south side

The wall reminds the hermit about the truth that the vineyard of a man’s life belongs to God and a man is only its tenant.

The wall of the Hermitage is not a sign of a man’s self-sufficiency or confinement but it is a symbol of God the Maker’s presence and an invitation to stay open to His Creative Power.

Erem Maryi "Brama Nieba"w zieleni

Mary’s Hermitage “The Gate of Heaven” in the greenness

The greenness surrounding the Hermitage (green symbolizes hope) constantly reminds about the necessity of living in Hope put in Jesus Christ.

Staying in the solitude of the Hermitage is not an end in itself. The greenness around helps to undergo the difficulties of the solitary way on a desert; it offers encouragement that one day the earthly struggles will come to an end and that all the Hope will be fulfilled in God.

Figura św. Brunona Kartuza

Każdego dnia przed tą figurą eremita modli się, mówiąc m.in. "Ojcze nasz" i "Św. Brunonie módl się za nami". Każdy przed wejściem do Eremu zaproszony jest do podobnej modlitwy, aby wzywać wstawiennictwa tego wielkiego świętego pustelnika.

Św. Bruno Kartuz jest głównym patronem drogi pustelniczej eremity zamieszkującego Erem. Kaplica w Eremie jest pod wezwaniem św. Brunona Kartuza.

Bruno).

The Statue of Saint Bruno

In the grounds of Mary’s Hermitage “The Gate of Heaven” there is a Statue of Saint Bruno the Carthusian. Every day the Hermit prays in front of the statue saying, among others, “Our Father” and “Saint Bruno, pray for us”. Everybody, before entering the Hermitage, is invited to say a similar prayer calling the intercession of that great saint hermit.

Saint Bruno the Carthusian is the main patron of the eremitic way of the hermit living in the Hermitage. The Chapel in the Hermitage is dedicated to Saint Bruno the Carthusian.

Some of the most important facts about the life of that Saint are put on the Hermitage’s main website (Saint Bruno link).
