Nazwa Eremu nawiązuje do czcigodnej Ikony Maryi Bramy Niebios. Maryja, przedstawiona w tej Ikonie, doznaje w Eremie szczególnej czci. 

Cytat z Listu do Kolosan jest mottem, które oświetla całokształt realizowanego w Eremie życia pustelniczego. W tym duchu, eremita nie podaje publicznie swego imienia i nazwiska, ograniczając się do określenia "eremita ove". Skrót "ove" pochodzi od pierwszych liter łacińskich słów: ordo vitae eremiticae  czyli porządek życia eremickiego. Jest to skrót, którego używa diecezjalny pustelnik konsekrowany.

The name of the Hermitage refers to the honorable Icon of Mary, the Gate of Heaven. In the Hermitage, Mary, presented in this Icon, is worshipped in a special way.

The quotation from the Letterto the Colossians is a motto which illuminates the whole of the eremitic life realized in the Hermitage. In that spirit, the hermit does not reveal his name and surname to the public, using instead an expression “eremita ove”. The acronym “ove” stands for the Latin words: ordo vitae eremiticae, that is: the order of the eremitic life. It is an abbreviation used by a consecrated diocesan hermit.
